How many trees does it take to make a difference?

Food for TreesTM is structured so that every dollar is maximised to result in trees in the ground.

Most businesses with around ten employees have a carbon footprint of about 70 tons per year. It takes in the order of four trees to retain one ton of carbon. So, 350 new trees planted each year would capture the annual carbon emissions of the average medium-sized business.

This information is provided as a guide. Food for Trees is voluntary, and members choose how many trees they will commit to planting each year.

The investment necessary to plant, maintain and guarantee each tree is $4.

Carbon capture is only one of the benefits of tree plantings. All new plantings contribute to creating cleaner air and waterways, new habitat for native wildlife, and a healthier place for us to live in.

All plantings help us towards our goal of a million new trees in 10 years.

So, you weigh up your environmental impact, and consider what level of commitment you will make.
